Mission

The role of the Mechanical Engineer is to support existing designs and new development projects using technical knowledge and experience. You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of a major drill rig R&D project, ensuring it is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest engineering standards. The position combines technical design expertise with hands-on leadership in production follow-up and field testing.

Will be responsible for all aspect of Mechanical engineering

  • Lead the design and development of a new drill rig from concept through production and field testing.
  • Manage project planning, technical documentation, and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Oversee and validate designs in structural frames, masts, hydraulic systems (pumps and motors), and compressor/airflow systems.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality.
  • Provide production with manufacturing files including detailed and assembly drawings and instructions to meet committed scheduled delivery.
  • Establishment and documentation of technical specifications, machine capabilities, and machine performance. 
  • Work with product development team to evaluate and select new parts and vendors.
  • Work closely with Service department to resolve issues and make product improvement in those areas of concern through customer and service personnel feedback.
  • Work closely with production to reduce manufacturing costs.
  • ERP updates of items and Bill of Material.
  • Assist Marketing, Sales and Service departments with customers via plant and field visits, presentations and meetings.

Competences

- Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred).

- 5 years of experience minimum.

- Excellent communication.

- Proven expertise in structural design, hydraulics, and compressor/airflow systems.

- Comfortable using ERP software, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive) and AutoCAD Inventor, etc.

- Strong organizational skills

- Experience with Canbus technology

- Knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor, and other engineering software.

- Prior experience designing drill rigs (e.g., Schramm, Gefco, Epiroc, Sandvick or similar) is highly valued.

- French language proficiency is a plus
